Caution; Merge; Workers Ahead! F5 Rear Axle Spacing

So, yeah. This is kind of a rant, be warned.

I just got my Chris King hubs which I ordered a helluvah long time ago in order to build up my F5. Front 20mm, rear 12x150mm. I could have sworn the F5 used a 150 rear spacing. So I go to fit the hub in and, as you guessed it, the F5 is a 135mm spacing rear. Maybe because of the floating brake??

Anyways, I guess I never heard if the F5 was 150 or 135. It doesn't say anywhere on the website. Yes, I assumed it was 150, but only because it had a 12mm thru and an 83MM BB. I've never heard of any bikes using a 83 bb and a 135 rear, except Marla Streb's V-10. So now I'm stuck. CK doesn't make a 12x135mm thru rear hub, but I'm going to call them tomorrow to see what I can do. I was really under a time constraint to get my bike done before friday. AHHHGH. This sucks. Alan do you have a proto rear 150mm chainstay you can ship me?!

This is silly. I don't care if it is lighter. DH bikes have 150, pansy bikes have 135. Alan please alert the interweb by updating your website!

    phock...

Go with Hope, I9, or Hadley. Return the CK Hub - shops are usually pretty cool about that kind of stuff. And call Matthew - our wheelbuilder. He can get you all set up.

You're obviously frustrated and have every right, but dude... really, busting on the bike and the company because you didn't take the time to check the specs or confirm with Chumba before ordering? Not a classy move on your part.

yeah I know, I should have checked....

but being around bikes all day you get in a habit of knowing (or thinking you know) what some specs are. Like I said, I've never seen a DH bike have a 135mm rear spacing with an 83mm bb. I guess with the floater it makes it more like 145 overall, so its not so different from every other bike.

This just throws a monkey wrench in my spokes. I was really hoping to have a CK hubset. I proformed them directly from CK. Not a big fan of Hopes, they just feel bad, there's no grease in the hubs I've had before. I think I'll keep the front but buy a 135 by 12mm rear I9 hub.

How much is the asymmetrical offset?

scratch that I'm going ghetto DHR style...

going to get the 135 chris king hub and drill out the hollow axle to make it 12mm. Nothing will stop this bike from being pimp!

    Dumb Idea.
    hadley 135x12 done.
All you have to do is dish it while in the drops and you are done. Takes 45 minutes. Less time than it took you to bitc4 about it. CK is for bling obsessed XC weenies. Hadley is a man's hub.
