    Custom Aluminum ??

It seems that the custom market is dominated by steel and Ti builders, with only a few builders using aluminum and scandium. I am actually looking to have a road bike built, but the Mtbr crowd seems more in tune with the custom builders. The builders that I have run across that work with aluminum/scandium include:

    Sycip
    Strong
    Quiring

Are there other ones that I am missing?

If you have any photos of custom aluminum please post.

    Thanks

Ventana does custom. Seven may also do custom Al, although I'm not positive.

If you like the 'industrial' look then give Nicolai a try -

Quite possibly the best made frames on the planet...

    Custom Al

    hi there,

we've got quite a few builders in Europe who are focusing on aluminum.

have a look at Duratec: http://www.duratec.cz
These folks are ready to let you custom order color, geometry, decals, you can put your www adress on the frame, as well as your initials, they'll weld you a Rohloff or singelspeed rear, etc.
And not to forget, the frames are lightweight, but durable.
I had a custom built Sendic F12 for almost 3 years till it got stolen... .
Though the frame is supposed to be a racing/marathon frame, I rode it on many occassions in difficult alpine terrain, no problem at all. It even took a few nice drops without complaints.
This is the latest version of the Sendic:

Their hardtails are sweeeet as well:

These guys are also represented in the US and Canada.

We offer two Scandium models, but can pretty much do anything on request.

Here's my personal XC race bike:

Failing that......how pretty is Ricks welding!

Whoa! The rear end of that frame looks just like a tracer, without the pivots.

    Duratec

Clean looking rides but with that seat tube you had better be in love with you're saddle height.

3D and Canyon are the best and quickest custom aluminum shops in the US, hands down.

Rock Lobster does Scandium and Al frames at pretty resonable prices.
