any top builders with short lead times?

anyone know of a top league custom framebuilder who has a short lead time (something like 1 month instead of 3 or 6 ...)

i'm a big guy 6'2" , 220 , so i'd prefer someone who has built for bigger guys ... i need an all-rounder mountain frame

    i'm in sf bay area

I don't know about one month but I'd give Rick Hunter a call. He's in Watsonville, Ca.

Jim Kish at Kish Custom Fabrication, located near Santa Maria, CA. so not so far from you if you want to vist him.

Jim is an excellent, excellent custom builder in steel and ti, really one of the absolute best.

    For info/pics (I'm 6'1"-200#), here's my road bike:

'scuse me, while I kish the ti...

I second cadence90's kish recommendation. Fast, reasonable prices, and he wields a mean torch. He's also remarkably helpful and patient w/r to "special requests" (like a ti cruiser). Teaches frame building courses to boot at UBI. He's the goods. Apologies to fellow Hendrix fans.

hunter and Kish are both top picks. Being from the bay they are also pretty local. You could give otis guy a call as well ( he is in fairfax). I wanted to go local (im in San Anselmo) but I couldnt beat Tom's prices. I just ordered my second Tom Teesdale.
It took one month to the day.

    Bernie Mikkelsen...

...is supposed to be real quick as well. Somewhere in the mtbr/ 29er archives are some shots of a beautiful yellow/black Rohloff Mikkelsen with a type II fork. Nice. Also, I believe Mikkelsen built the prototypes for the Ox Brand Cruiser...good looking frames as well.

I own 3 kish bikes and they are great!!! the two road bikes i have ridden single track on and they hold up great!! you have the option of using butted or straight gauge ti and i have one of each! they ride great and no rust or corrosion! the 29 incher he built is killer also. 29 inch crusier i have ridden on the flume and was a blast!!! Plus he is a nice guy and easy to talk to! he will not sell you on hype he is a no bull type of guy his welds are not filed down or double pass welds. if you cant afford ti he builds steel also! check him out www.kishbike.com

If you're in the bay check out soulcraft and Mt. Tam cycles (Steve Potts, my former 6th grade math teacher's brother! Neato!) My soulcraft took about 6 weeks.
