another Zion 660 build

I bought this frame on a whim after reading some posts on here about steel hardtail frames. All I can say is "Steal IS real!" I went into this build wanting to get the bike light, not by being a hardcore weight weenie, but making solid component choices that offer performance and durability and that are light too. In the end the build came out to 24.2 pounds on my LBS's digital scale (24.1 pounds on paper).

This thing climbs like a dream, handles single track amazingly well and the steel dampens the ride very much. I love the geometry (71/73) and find that the bike performs much better with the SID race on the front (I built it originally with my old Reba SL). I ride and race XC and live outside of NYC so this bike will see classic XC with alot of road miles/training.

It was meant to be a simple winterbike and my first taste of steel...but after logging about 500miles on it in 6 days (in bitter cold and snow) I gotta say that I might race this build in the early season.
