The Pequonnock Rail Trail goes from Trumbull North. West of the river is a mix of fire road and a bit of paved. There are a couple of jags/road crossings, but I have ridden it on my mtb and it is a pleasant ride.

It goes through various parks with parking areas, the southernmost of which, in Trumbull, is the most crowded. The southernmost two lots are at Park St and off of Whitney ave in Trumbull.
