    Togs

Anyone heard of them? Used them?

I put my thumbs on top of my bars all the time on long climbs, when my hands go a bit numb. Came across these randomly... wondering if they may be of some small benefit.

I've def seen them in the wild, heard of them and have considered them but haven't yet tried them. I see the advantage as being improved security when your thumbs are on top of the bar where otherwise it'd be easier to knock your hand off/lose your grip on the bar.

There's another somewhat similar add-on that looks like a small bar-end mounted inside the grip. SQLAB INNERBARENDS

My GF likes them. She has them on both her bikes. I tried them...and didn't really feel like they all that did much. YMMV.

I read some opinions on other forums, kinda funny how butt hurt some people seemed to be about the idea. They also seemed to add how many years they have been riding for which I thought a funny correlation.

In no way do I think this is some ground breaking revelation. But, if some tiny component, that's relatively cheap and light, can add even a slight amount of comfort to my day... I'm into it.

I don't think they add comfort as you can ride with your thumbs in the same position with or without them. There's just less chance of losing your grip on the bar with your thumbs on top. The larger SQLab version adds another hand position, which might help.

I used them for 3 years. The best thing about them for me was that they prevented my ESI foam grips from migrating inwards. Plus they looked kinda badass in a devils horns kinda way. I ride without them now and donít miss them.

I have them. They are a nice option to allow you to ride on top of the bars more safely.

I've heard people whine about "I can do that without some extra part".
Yes, but when you can put your hand around something, you have more control. I'm not taking about using them when riding the road or a smooth dirt trail. I'm talking rougher stuff where you could easily slip off the bars if something isn't there to help prevent your hand from slipping. That equals more hand relaxation.....

Yep, have them on both bikes. I like them when climbing. Also, they allow me to relax my hands on the grips which helps with hand/forearm fatigue. Seems almost strange to ride a bike without them now.

Fouriers sells a less expensive version that works well.

Just ordered a pair. I have a trip to NC planned for the end of May. I've heard the climbs are pretty long so hopefully these will help make them more enjoyable.
