    Swapping Shimano freehub body

I need to replace a Shimano freehub on Altus 3x8 drivetrain with V-brakes, but I cannot find the recommended FH-RM70 or FH-RM30-8 models. Could I use another freehub, such as from Deore groupset, for disk brakes, or for 9 speeds, e.g. FH-M475, FH-RM33, or FH-RM66? Is it right that all Shimano 8/9/10 speed freehubs are interchangeable?

I will upgrade to a new set of wheels and hubs altogether next year, but I need a freehub for the rest of the year.

Yes you can. I've replaced various 8-10 speed shimano freehubs with those from different level hubs. Just don't get a 7 speed freehub as they're narrower. It's sometimes cheaper to buy a complete hub than a freehub by itself.
