Installing First Dropper - guidance please

I'm putting a dropper in for the first time..

My bike has "ports" on the downtube at the headset, at the bottom of the downtube right above the BB, and one at the bottom of the seat tube also right above the BB.

Am I correct in thinking that only the cable is fed through the frame, and the black cable housing is only used on the exterior between the lever and the port and between the two ports at the BB?

Looked on youtube and there seems to be a number of different ways this is implemented some routing the whole housing in the frame.

Internal routing for mountain bikes typically uses full length housing (i.e. housing and cable inside the frame). You can tell what your bike requires by whether there is a housing stop at the hole. Furthermore, all of the cable actuated droppers I've worked with require the housing all the way to the stop on the bottom of the post.

with the above and after attempting to put the housing in the port...and it kept going in with no stop, I realized my frame has a rubber grommet system that you just pull off and then feed the housing all the way to the post.

    Thanks!

Might be a dumb question because I am new to this and looking at getting a dropper but do they come with the cable and housing or is that bought separately?

Specifically the brand x internal post. Thanks

IIRC, all droppers I've installed came with housing and cable (Reverbs, hose). If they don't, it's a quick trip to the lbs and maybe $10.
    Do the math.

Yea it should come with the cable. On my brand X ascend II it was too short to use my frames internal routing, but I assume the cable that comes with the internal brand X ascend is longer...

Thanks for the response. I ordered it so Iíll report back when I get it on. Apparently
I need to get some frame plugs as well.
