I want to "try" an offset headset...can I swap it easily?

I currently have a Cane Creek 40 ZS/ZS 44/56* and would like to try out a 1 degree angle offset. Now I'm hoping there is a way where I don't have to "press" in the new offset headset and can just use what is already pressed in from the 40 and just swap out the guts for the offset guts and get 1 degree slacker...then if I don't like it, I can swap back easily. Is this possible or do I have to remove the entire 40 and press in a new offset to try it out?

You have to remove the whole CC 40 headset. The angle offset is achieved through the cups that are pressed into the frame while the guts (bearings, seals, etc) are basically the same

    Have to press it out.

I suggest the Works Components headsets, they are good units.

    +1 on Works Components

Depending on headtube and how much offset angle you want it may mean switching from a zero stack to external cup. So you might need to compare the stack height measurements of the new headset against your existing headset and stem spacers to confirm the steerer tube is long enough.
