    Headset Question

I am working on a friends bike who needs a new headset. Here's the problem. I can't find anything that looks right.

It's a 2016 Diamondback Line 27.5 hardtail. It has a 1 1/8 straight steer fork. The head tube has a pressed in cup on the bottom but the top is machined into it.

I found information on REI's website here:

    https://www.rei.com/product/893044/d...-275-bike-2016

that says it's a FSA NO. 42. I can't find anything that looks right for that.

Diamondback still sells the LINE but it's probably newer so I don't know if it's still a straight steer but they have that one listed with this headset: FSA IS-3/NO.11 Integrated Style

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

No 42 looks right, but as you point out, for a tapered 1 1/8" 1 1/2" steerer. Does the steerer have a 1.5" adapter/race on it at the crown?

You probably don't actually need to get the entire headset. You can just get the replace bearings.
    What, me worry?

So I was able to speak with someone at Diamondback and it turns out that it is an OEM headset that FSA does for them. They didn't have one in stock and advised me to call FSA. I was able to speak with someone at FSA and they were very helpful. Basically it's a hybrid of two different headsets. One part number is for that top of one headset and one part number is the bottom of another headset. I have the parts on order.
