Gravity Dropper Turbo LP rebuild question

I have an old but functional GD Turbo LP. I have rebuilt it in the past without replacing any parts with no issues. This time I needed a seal, bushing, and shims. I ordered the parts from GD. It only took them 10 days to ship it out, and now their site is down. I need to get the old shims out, so I can get the new bushing and seal in. Then I need to get new shims in. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the shims out. Anyone have any idea? Help is appreciated.

I ended up getting them out with a pick. Pretty much destroyed them in the process. I was able to get the new ones back in with a small mallet. Post is fully functional again.
