    Dropper with Offset

Other than 9point8 are there any dropper post with offset anymore? Why is this such a rare feature?

A dropper will be smoother without offset since your weight is directly over the shaft. Also the obsession with steep seat tubes and forward saddle positions means there probably isnít much demand for offset seatposts anymore.

The "need" for an offset seatpost is 99.98% all in the head and not based on science.

The reason I think I need the offset is because the new bikes with the ideal ETT for me have massive wheelbase because of the steep STA. That is not good for my local trails which are flat and twisty. Thus the option is to size down for the wheelbase I want and use the offset for the ETT also. I like the newer suspension technology/features/hype but want to have the best ETT and wheelbase for my local riding.

Not sure if it's available in your size needs, but the Specialized Command Post has 20mm of setback. I had a mostly good experience with my old one. It required periodic cleaning/greasing and as long as you stayed on top of that, it worked great.
