DMR V Twin pedals, road biking?

i see an odd note on the packaging that says only to use for offroad and competitive situations? is this just kind of a stock discalimer? i plan to ride these on the road with spd mountain shoes/cleats.

If you use mtb shoes and pedals for road biking, it's fine. I believe the warning was in case someone tried to pair road cleats to mtb pedals or vice versa.
