DIY Offset Water Bottle Cage Mount

Iíve been wanting to be able to run 2 24oz insulated bottles on my bike with warm AZ weather coming. Where the bosses are on my seat tube, a normal bottle barely fits. (Not sure why the bosses werenít put in lower in the first place)

Bored at home with time to kill I decided to save $20 on buying one. Used a 3/4Ē wide piece of aluminum flat bar. Had extra M5 bolts, nuts, and washers laying around.

I made it a little too long as the bottle sits on the down tube. But itís in plenty enough for the cage to hold it. If it doesnít hold, Iíll make another where the holes arenít so far offset.

I even chamfered the hole in my cage for the bolt head. That way the cage is flush on the bracket.

I can't imagine not having that bottle fly out of the cage over any kind of rough surfaces.
    What, me worry?

Itís never come out of the other cage where I normally run it. But weíll see. After all this cost me $0 and I can take the bracket off.

I have made a similar mount for Turner RFX. Even though I ride a large frame, the stock bosses didn't allow for anything over a small bottle(16oz. maybe).
The mount plate works great, I used .75 x .125 aluminum bar stock. Never lost a bottle.
