    Chaintamer UK thoughts?

I really like the concept of these and I can forgive the looks if it really does work as well as advertised. I was wondering if anyone has spent any time with these? Can I get away with running no other chainstay protection and keep my paintwork fresh? Do they add any noticeable friction to the drivetrain? Thanks for any thoughts

Thoughts: Would not have any beneficial effects for me. To keep my paintwork fresh it would have to encapsulate the entire bike protecting it from crashing into rock piles. Needless complexity, potential problems/jamming, cosmetically deleterious.
    Do the math.

Would be a conversation piece though I am guilty of wanting to bubblewrap the bike but the way I approach it is that I will do everything I can to prevent any damage (just like this); but if I OTB into a rock garden are destroy everything I wont be mad, because it was just the cost of having a good time!
