    broken carbon rail wtb saddle

    hi all,

I've got a wtb volt carbon saddle.

I cased a drop and my butt cracked the carbon rail by hitting the saddle with my butt. My butt is like less than 30cm away from the saddle at max but it's enough to cracked the rail and yet I don't even feel any sore, pain or even bruise.

    Is this normal?
are the rails on saddle that fragile?

I've broken and bent a few saddles over the years, and never felt anything afterward other than a pain in the wallet. It's definitely possible to break one without hurting yourself.

I have cracked a rail and didn't even noticed until a friend noticed I was riding with one side of the saddle lower than the other. No crash, no bum pain, nothing, just a cracked rail and I have no idea when I did it.

    I see,
So it does happened, are those carbon rails too?

what would be the most durable type of rail instead?

The only one I haven't bent or broke was titanium. I've never tried Manganese or that Kium intergalactic stuff.

I'm guessing your seatpost isn't made for round rails, though.
