Are alloy pedals a lot more durable than composite?

I love my Kona Wah Wah II composite pedals but they chipped after a couple years due to banging them on rocks. Instead of riding them without a couple pins, I'm going to get some new ones. I assume the alloy version will be more durable but wanted to check here before spending the extra $ on them

    Good question.
I have RaceFace Chester pedals and they seem to hold up to abuse.

Allow pedals will dent and ding and of course show all the nicks and scratches.

Durable, maybe -but will show wear more easily include above, like denting.

Thanks guys. I may run the pedals a bit longer and see how they hold up. I also have some Chesters that I may swap out, although I've gotten pretty used to the big platform of the Wah Wahs

These are identical to Chesters at $20.

I've broken alloy, bent steel, guess you can break nylon too but it seems to be fairly resilient for me.
