    Trek 720
Has any one looked at the new trek 720 ? It comes with dry bags for the fork and ad has room for bigger tiers and fenders. Has any one tried this?http://http://www.trekbikes.com/us/e...y/touring/720/

Looks neat, but I don't get the allure of the equivalent of two Salsa Anycages and a couple of drybags. Especially for road, I would choose a lowrider rack and bags any day. I would rather see a complete touring bike come with fenders over cargo carriers.

IMO, Kona did a bang up job with the Sutra a few years ago, but even they've cut back the features from a nicely kitted tourer to make it more affordable.

I am a big fan of HY/RDs, though.

I was surprised to see it spec'd with a threaded headset.

Alloy frame on a long distance bike? No thank you. I like my spine and perineum.

That said, I have two Reynolds 520 frames from 1988. And will acquire another if I come across it. Love that frame.
