Topeak MtX rack on beach cruiser

i have an mtx rack that I had on my commuter for a long time. I want to move it to my Wife's cruiser for neighborhood errands. The problem is that the "extensions" that connect to the seat post are about 4" too short. The seat post does not have mounts for s rack but I can get a seat post clamp with mounts on it. The problem is getting either longer supports or some type of product to go in the middle.

    Any ideas?

Jandd and Sunlite both sell extra long rack struts. We have some of the sunlite ones at work because it always seems like short women have to have a rear basket, it I think the Jandd ones are a little longer.

You could connect the struts you have to p clamps on the seat stays.
