    Tire Question

Im looking at purchasing a new rear tire for my san jose. the wtb all terrainasarus is showing some red. I saw a kenda kwest that looked promising. Anyone have any experience with this tire. Is it ok if i leave the other wtb on the front or should I change em both out. I dont have a ton of cash right now. looking for 700 x32 or 700 x 35

Do not get the Kenda Kwest tire. These came stock on my commuter and i had to replace them. The problem I had with the tire was actually the tread design. there are little small indents in the center tread that will pick up little rocks and glass that will puncture the tubes. i had 7 flats in 2 weeks riding to and from work. I ended up getting specialized armadillos and haven't had a problem since, they are a little bit more but i don't have to worry about flats now.

FWIW, I have been riding the Panaracer Urban Max for the past several years (700x32). they have been great. Doesn't look like they make them anymore, however that Crosstown looks to be a pretty similar tire. For that price, I would get 'em.

If your tire on the front is in OK shape, by all means, leave it on.

I think that Panaracer tire is very similar, if not the same as the Performance Bike Gotham tire which sells for about 1/2 that. If you have a Performance Bike around, it might be worth a look.

I got some Gothams for a friend. They're made my panaracer and are pretty burly (and heavy), but rocks get stuck in the treads. Still, not bad for the price.

Pooh. Tgh call. I would go for the bigger tire. It would be a little more comfy and you would be less prone to flitting on rocks and stuff that usually get skinnier tires.
