Thoughts? Brand New 2010 Transit Cameron

Brand New Transit Cameron for $599 from Performance...

2010 TransIt Cameron Commuter Bike - Outlet Bikes Marked Down

Seems like a deal, ok components, but I've never heard of "Transit".

No idea. They seem like decent bikes but I have no experience. The reviews seem positive. I've bought a Nashbar brand bike before and been perfectly happy with it.

I'd contact performance and get the weight of the bike to make sure you aren't buying something that's 45+lbs.

As per on-line chat w/ sales rep...this bike weighs 27lbs with rack and fenders. Does this even sound close to being right? I saved the conversation in case I order one and it ends up weighing 45lbs. ;-)

As quoted in on-line chat...it's the Franklin that weighs 27lbs w/ fenders and racks:

Wow! Nice bike. When did it go on sale?

I was just at REI not long ago and saw a bike that looks identical like this one,

It's been on "sale" for a while. They are 2010 and 2011 models only available in small and x-small. Obviously clearing out inventory. But if it truly weighs 27lbs...that's a pretty well spec'd bike, not too heavy and at a great price. I think I can rock the small. I'm 5' 6".
