I tried to replicate the "shitty iphone through 3 plastic bags in rain" effect that I so often encounter (with a bit of "expressionism" thrown in). People seem to love sharing those masterpieces. Did I do well?

It makes me curious. I can see that it is has several colors and a dropbar. Can not see wide/narrow/road/cx/mtb tires.

Is that the dropbar that you posted a while ago?

I think a better picture would be useful, and might as well be posted in the commuter gallery thread (pinned on top of the page).

Ok here are some better pics. its a 6 sp 11-28 with 8sp spacing. Lynskey Ti. Notice the dura ace chainguard!
I made a special mount to run a 9sp xt shifter. Its not done yet. i also modded the rd, the screws on there are so shitty I cant believe it. Now its hex all over. Reverse brake levers. Full length jagwire housings. dt hubs rims and spokes and nipples. surly disc trucker fork. schwalbe marathon supreme front and rear 30/35mm actual (on xr400/tk540) but those are 37 and 32 i think. straitline pedals. cane creek s8, nitto dirt drops. sram 850 8sp cog donor. dt 240. shimano slx front and rear discs, bb7 road front and rear.

Lubing and greasing everything up on this bike took about 8h, at least, the wheelbuild about 12 or so (and I did it correctly).

basically i spent about 1 week assembling and machining special parts, and about 1 year finding and buying them.

9,5 killagramz as shown. i didn't really go for lite here really, to be honest I went for max durability with everything and I actually never looked at a single components weight. oh wait i weighed the frame though. "naked" though. 1600 i think could have been 1700 too. I dont remember. Never weighed the wheels either. and who really cares? I'm hauling a 3000g lock around

Looks nice, finally something different as usual. Did you spray the colors on yourself or was it custom madefor you like that?

The fork i painted with a brush, only the red is painted by me. Unfortunately I used a one component paint and it apparantly never hardens fully. I have to redo sometime in the future with a rattlecan.

I just degreses the Ti frame with european crc brakeclean (not the same as the US one) and then used the rattlecans we had at work. We had black too, but i dont like black. no masking no nothing, i plugged all holes and threads though. I have since then ordered lots of more rattlecan colors

This is probably a very undurable paintjob. but it doesnt matter i just spray some new paint on there when it chips.

To get good adherance to ti (to do a paintjob on Ti properly) you need to sandblast, then etch the surface with a ti specific etchant, then put on a special primer, then a regular epoxy primer, then color (preferably urathane), then top clear coat (preferably polyurethane).

Now since this is a "user" and not some kind of art project or something i will baby, i did none of that.

Also if you want to see more of the paint I posted some stuff this thread here http://forums.mtbr.com/general-discu...nk-958539.html

Basically I tried to sprinkle some darker paint on the top side of tubes so the top and bottom of tubes would appear just as dark/light when seen from the side in sunlight, and thus fuking with peoples mind a bit, since the bottom of tubes will always be darker in sunlight if its the same color all around.

Also I sprinkeled in some white on the blue paint to make it appear like some fake flake/metallic

All right. I have now assembled the honjo brass fenders on my bike, and now I get toe overlap.

So Instead of the disc trucker fork I'm running now, I'm putting on a salsa vaya 50mm offset (5mm extra, and its also 15mm longer, a-c) strange enough this will give me the exact same mechanical trail!

I'm also looking forward to be able to have my handlebars higher. shouldnt have cut the steerer so short on the disc trucker.
