    I sit alot but I also commute....

    Dr Sanjay mentions that exercise or standing encourages good chemicals to rise. He specifically mentions HDL (good cholestrol)....

    I just had mine checked and apparantly it is off the charts good....(So are most of my riding buddies).

    Seems like a simple solution to me....

    Easy solution: take your saddle and post off and ride like that ;)

    Reminds me of George Carlin's joke 'Saliva causes cancer, but only if swallowed in small amounts over a long period of time.'

    Exercising is a good thing in many ways (sitting or standing) so I'm not going to lose sleep over this "news".

    This is a nice study showing that interrupting prolonged sitting with really short bouts of light exercise is even better for your glucose and insulin metabolism than one single 30-min bout of exercise a day.

    So if you're an office worker, don't just bike commute but also make regular walks around the office, take the stairs, make a walk in you lunch break.
