I have a pair of Lone Peak panniers from the 1980's that are in excellent condition minus the polyurethane coating on the nylon fabric. The coating, like found on a lot of equipment made of nylon cloth or denier nylon cloth, originally had a polyurethane coating for weather-proofing. After so many years (many being spent inside a metal shed in 100+ degree summer heat) the coating has deteriorated, flaking off on the inside of the bags.

Other than that, these bags are spotless and in like-new condition. I would like to use them. Is there any way to reapply a coating to the inside of the bags? I have heard of the Nikwax products for tents and packs and such, but wonder if there was a way to apply a coating like the nylon had when new.
