Sorry, no screenshot for proof, but my estimate is ~2,750 in commuting miles. Lot's on the mountain bikes as well...

I don't really have any way to pull out commutes from the year end total. A lot of long road rides started and ended in different places by design, but calling them commutes would be a stretch. And I almost aways tack some miles on my ride home from work. Best guess would be 4500km based on the shortest distance to work and the number of workdays on the year, which is just shy of a third of my total for the year.

    1369 via foot

Both were low for me, but I suppose I do have the surgery and recovery excuse.

I came up with 1696 miles for the year tracked with my garmin. There's probably another 100-200 that didn't get tracked.

I'm hoping to do 3000+ miles this year, but my bigger, more important goal is 5000 or less miles on the car.

I managed 2000 miles this year. Considering my 15 year hiatus, I am happy to have achieved this since June. I hope to log at least twice that next year. Probably 75% of these miles were commuting.

Somewhere between 2,500-3,000 miles on the bike(s), about the same on the car. I might try to keep better track of my mileage this year to see if I can "officially" tip the balance to the bikes. Haven't been great at tracking my miles in the past though, mostly because I get no real motivation from it. Mostly just makes me hate making insurance payments on my car when I think of how infrequently I use it.

I like the idea of tracking driven miles. In my case, my truck`s mileage is pretty much all mine, but I don`t know how I would separate my miles from my wife`s in her car.

5562 according to the Garmin. Probably a few dozen more that didn't get tracked due to satellite/human error.

My own car was driven about 3950 miles in 2014.
My bikes got 3487 miles total with 1439 of that being commutes.

Jan and Feb last year were really horrible months for riding a bike in my area (PA). Generally nasty weather that lasted almost to the spring. Already have a much better head start to the year.

Shooting for 5000 miles on the bike in 2015.

Post your miles for the year
Squeaked in over 3,000 combined- all on knobby 29er's (~1/3rd were commuting).

I ended with 2,362.7 miles tracked. I estimate another 100 or so that I missed due to phone malfunction/human error. My goal for 2015 is at least 100 miles a month January-March and 3,500 miles for the year.

    .

    2,532 commuting* miles
    3,090 miles total

    * Does include errands on the way home, and sometimes longer rides too. My commute itself is ~18 miles round trip, quite literally uphill both ways. All weather, year round.

Shooting for 3,500 miles this year, should make it no problem. In addition to missing about a week of commuting due to an injury (not cycling related), there was close to two weeks total that I took advantage of access to a car and drove for one reason or another (often, no good reason really). I should cut that in half this year, and will have a freshly built steed (instead of a worn out one) and will have a back-up bike, so no excuses to not put more miles in. Which I want to do anyway.

8,244.5 total. First time over 8,000 miles for me. The months break down like this:

^^Impressive miles but what is your yearly elevation? I know you are in hill country.

I was in the neighborhood of 290,000 feet last year.

A measly 3000+ miles. My recorded miles are just over 3000, but I can think of at least a few hundred that were not recorded, even after I started recording in March/April.

At this point my miles look like they'll be about the same for this coming year, if not more, despite the fact that this break from normal scheduling has not left much time for biking or even bike commuting.

Once the semester starts, I can ritualized the whole process again. So...one week. Until then I'll at least get Thursday. I will say though that part of me is terrified of riding home from one of my jobs because people in this town tend to be pretty hostile to anything not normal to them. I'm not ready for that in the dark hours quite yet. Though I may be headed to southern Missouri for work after college, so maybe I oughtta get used to feeling totally unsafe on the roads.

I have no proof, but when my GPS took a pooh on me in late September I was at just under 10K for the year at that point. Total riding, not just commuting. I figure that I probably ended the year out at right around 11.5k as I stepped back quite a bit in late November and early December.

Don't know how to get the total off strava anymore but I think it was right around 3600. I know i beat my 3k goal by a lot. Around 220k feet climbing. Guessing around 45 percent of that mileage was commuting, and maybe 35-40 percent of the climbing?

Over 5,200 miles, with 308,869 feet of elevation gain in 2014, probably 2/3 of the miles were commuting, the rest mountain biking and other fun rides.
