To be on the safe side, I'd expect them more often than that.
The above statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration

That's a pretty conservative estimate, I think. I've been 'following' advocacy over there for some time now, Carlton Reid is all over it. By all opinions I see, London is as batsh*t crazy as NYC or LA, which are hemorrhaging over the 'shift' to bikes, as slow as it is.

I don't live in any of those cities, just some little town of 200K; it has gotten A LOT better for bikes here, as cases of road rage have fallen off about 75% over the last 6 years, but I WILL NOT relax one bit, as the biggest thing going right now locally is the hospital-driven "DON'T TEXT AND D r I v E" campaign. Cell phone use behind the wheel is, IMO, an epidemic of criminally stupid conduct. So I will KEEP the "eyes in the back of my head" going for the forseeable future.

One per hour is a low-ball estimate, I count on every driver being an idiot to keep myself safe. But since moving to my small rural hick town I get a lot less crap than I did living in the Portland metro area even when dealing with non-bike friendly road layouts.

Same here, saw a guy today juggling his cigarette and whatever he was doing on the i-Phone. I'm thinking they should rename it the "me" phone, as in, it's all about me.

Exactly -- if you approach riding in traffic with the philosophy of "any driver at any time is likely to do the stupidest, most rudely thoughtless thing imaginable, right in front of you", you can only be pleasantly surprised. The bad part is, I do this, and still SMH daily....
