New question here. Need some 26" winter tires

Mountain bike tires for the road. 26". Mostly plowed roads, but not always. There is snow and ice.

I've used some cheap tires in the past 2.0-2.1 and they worked ok. Not great on snow/slush but I could control the sliding somewhat. Worrisome on ice though. This year I fitted some Nobby Nics 2.35 and they handle ice just fine and light snow, but are seemingly useless during a storm with some buildup on the ground.

I've been looking at tires like the Kenda Klondike and Shwalble Marathon Winter. What is a better size, 1.75 or 1.95? I ride 1.95 "summer" tires and they feel on the edge of what I like in terms of being able to absorb road pitfalls. A 1.75 might have the advantage on deeper snow is my understanding.

Tubeless would be a plus, though I realize it might not be possible. I have wtb freq rims.

Here they are. Tires look nice, just waiting on some snow and ice...

Finally got a good ride in with these bad boys. There was some ice, some (not deep) snow and some slush. They handled beautifully. Usually I try to find the good part of the street where the cars go but I was blazing my own path.
