Anyone commuting on a Nashbar frame? If so which one? Been watching the local coop and Craigslist but not having much luck yet. Doing the calc on a Surly frame I would spend much more than a Nashbar.

I have never had one, but there have been threads on their frames. I think 4 or 5 years ago. They are good budget frames

I bought a Nashbar AL-1 bike for about $425, rode it for a year and sold it for about $425. It was a great bike.

It depends what you're wanting, but you could also take a look at: On One Bikes |

I'd been really coveting a nice steel Surly or Soma, but went with on-one and got a frame, headset, seatpost, bar and a few other doodads all shipped for probably half the price.

Natehawk is another regular on the commuting forum, and he had troubles with the brakes setup on his Pompetamine, but I've got an Inbred and am really loving it.

I have the "X" Cyclocross frame. A few people on here were riding them a while back... I haven't ridden it in a couple years, but I've had it set up as a full road bike, a 1x8 freak commuter bike, and a singlespeed. Did my first century on that bike. The frame/fork is still hanging in the garage.

They changed them a year or two ago to 130mm rear wheel spacing, so people were having trouble setting them up with disc brakes. Mine is the older, 135mm rear spacing, and I always used 29er wheels on it.

Anyway, my experience with the Nashbike has been all positive. That said, I'm on a Surly Ogre now...
You have no excuse for driving to work
(unless you don't have studded tires)
    (no excuse for that either)
