    my first bike build:)

    here is my very first complete bike build and I love this bike weighs about 21lbs and is a rocket compared to my old 30 pound commuter LOL . love the flat handlebar too.....and love 1 x9 for simplicity.

    What are the "elbows" on the seatstays?

    its a Specialized thing. there's rubber inserts in there that give the frame some extra flex and rebound. it's like lightweight suspension for road bikes.

    Awesome! any build list you can share? also total cost? I love reading up about builds ground up, what they used, and how much they spend. It just inspires me =)

    total build was about $1200 (frame -$400 ebay, wheels $220 -CRC....the rest of the prts I just loked for deals on ebay saved myself a bundle and it was a great learning experince....will never buy a complete bike again

    No chain keeper? Any issues with dropping the chain?

    nope,,,,never have needed one and I have hit some pretty big potholes, hopped off some serious curbs....not a dropped chain yet
