Mountain Frame, 700c wheels. V brakes to suite?

I've retired my Giant XTC, which is now the commuter. I have been using 26' (disc)wheels and have had a set of Alex Rim DM18 lying around for sometime. They physically fit to the frame and fork with a nice amount of clearance. Question is, are there any V brakes on the market that will use the original mounts but with enough adjust ability to work with the 700's??

onza HO v's! (if you can find them/want to run them)

I built a beefy commuter with girvin linkage fork and maguras and 700's for my friend using the mavic adapter plates, those are the best option. paul's and onza's and any "adapted" brake caliper loses some power by running the pad holders further up the arms, mavic's adapter raises the brake mounts themselves, so you really do have the brakes just mounted an inch higher up and they adjust properly and eveyrthing!
If steel is real then aluminium is supercallafragiliniun!

It looks like the options are going to cost a little more than I would have liked. Though the Mavic adapter came close. Thinking on it, I guess there will be a fender fitting problem if I down the V route anyhow....
