I love my new commuter bike

I built an On-One Pompetamine SS. I'll save folks from seeing the same pics over and over (I haven't taken any new ones yet), but I just wanted to say what a fun bike this is.

With what essentially amounts to a 29er mtb wheelset, the bike is pretty well equipped for me to just ride it how I want and not worry about where I'm riding or what I roll over.

I put a Brooks saddle on it, and it's my first experience with the Brooks. I'm amazed at how comfortable this saddle is!

The gearing is just a hair tall for me, but it's a good gearing for me to build up strength on climbs, yet it's good on the flats.

Going with mustache bars was also a good choice. I find them to be really comfortable and they let me keep my head up enough for maintaining my ability to see. Funny thing about those bars is that I've had comments from some friends about them suggesting they've never even seen mustache bars before. One asked me today at lunch if I custom made them.

Spec'ing it out myself and building it up myself was a lot of fun. I'll definitely be doing that again. Next one looks like it'll be a bike for the wife. I'll be getting her out there turning a wrench on her own bike and maybe she'll feel some of that satisfaction about building her bike herself.

Sounds great, Nate! I`m tempted to take a sip of Brooks too, but I`m at least fairly satisfied with my current saddles- maybe one of these days. And thumbs up for getting your wife out to do the work on her bike. As long as she`s interrested in it, anyway.

Okay okay. Still haven't taken any new pics of the bike. Been busy at work and so it's usually dark when I get home.

Looks nice! I'm running a Brooks B-17 with mustache bars on my Jamis Aurora. Really comfy setup.

That would be no excuse if it were a glow-in-the-dark bike.
Hey, wait a minute- you DON`T have an excuse!

I've tried several times to get pics of the glowing effect. To be honest, this is the best one so far (during daylight, the paint is a more creamy white and doesn't stand out so much).
