To glove, or not to glove?

Just curious what gloves you are wearing. Or if your bare handing it? I myself have been happy with the Fox dirtpaws, and Specialized etips.

No gloves yet, but they could come at any time. When I do start wearing them again, I have a variety depending on conditions. None of mine are really stand-out models that merit special mention, just whatever I pick from my stash each day.
    Recalculating....

Mechanic's gloves from Home Depot. Cheaper than most gloves sold in bike shops, but comparable padding and protection.

    (no excuse for that either)

I go bare handed because it feels better. If I'm feeling saucy I'll use my left hand.

Mechanix originals, in "covert" all black.

They're cheap and durable and fit well.

And wearing gloves is like wearing a helmet.

That's a stretch. Gloves can prevent your hands from getting scratched up. A helmet can prevent your life from being effed up or lost.

That said, I wear gloves if it's cold, but prefer bare hands most of the time.

Maybe it's because I'm coming from motorcycles, but if I'm wearing a helmet to protect my head, then I'm wearing gloves to protect my hands.

Also, I have a much better grip on the controls (brakes, shifters) with gloves.

I ride barehanded when its warm enough. When it is getting colder I wear gore mistral windstopper gloves and below freezing level I wear shortfinger/mitt combination (dont know which brand).

Went for a couple of months without gloves but stopped when I used my hands as brakes in morning. Hamburger. I tend to use whatever is cheap, shopping at odd places to find/repurpose stuff there (Home Depot, Cal Ranch etc. My cooler weather gloves are some Novarra (REI house brand) full finger insulated gloves but they're getting long in the tooth. So really cold days I use a pair of wool mitten gloves, they work great in snow/sleet conditions since they keep warm when wet. Current gloves are from Handup Gloves and I'm loving them...thin, light, well ventilated but with enough protection.

Full finger gloves all the time for me. Braking with your palms is not fun, and sweat doesn't help getting a firm grip of the bars. Currently on a pair of alpine stars.

Add a pair of thin gore glove liners for really cold conditions.

I need all the padding (padded bar tape , too), I can get even with raised bars to get my weight off my hands, so I have padded fingerless gloves I wear alone or inside of heavier gloves if the weather warrants and the Bar Mitts,

I just use gloves if it's cold. And when it is cold they are really great to have.
