    Fork help

So I've been reading about winter commuting and decided I'll be using my Giant Brass 2. Since thats the only bike I have with disc brakes. So heres my question. Can I use Surly 1x1 rigid forks. They are correct for 80mm travel, but the RST forks I have are 100mm travel. How much of a difference is it going to make, will I even be able to notice?

Measure your axel-crown height at sag on the Giant and compare the height of the Surly fork. If the difference is more than 20mm, you're likely to feel a little quicker handling. For street riding, I wouldn't expect it to be a problem, though.
