Does anyone know if anyone makes...

Cycling tights with zip-off legs. If so, please let me know where I can find them. I've searched the web and local stores and I haven't found any.

I've never seen tights with zip-off legs, not that they don't exist.
Your best bet might be leg warmers.
They generally have a gripper-elastic at the top so they don't slide down and a zipper at the bottom so they can be taken off over shoes.

That's what I'm using now. It works fine and I will continue to use shorts/leg warmers. I just thought about it today when I was riding to work and wondered if such an animal existed. The idea just seams so practical (to me anyway) that I was certain that I would easily be able to find some. I can't even find any running tights with zip-off legs. I guess they aren't as practical as I thought they'd be.

Not if it were desinged correctly. You wouldn't even notice if the zipper were small and hidden between overlapping layers of fabric.

to that maybe either 3/4 knickers or the climbing-hiking pants with zip-off legs. I prefer the knicker route myself

Pearl Izumi makes a pair of pants called the "Elite Barrier Convertible Pant" that are in the newest nashbar catalog (I just got it in the mail yesterday). I can't find them on line anywhere... they turn up on Google searches at places like REI, and pricegrabber.com, but then they are not available anymore or aren't there when you go to the site. Sorry, no link for you. But they are in the nashbar catalog and they exist. They are a full on zip off, but they are not full on tights. They are a cycling pant, like a rain pant.
You have no excuse for driving to work
(unless you don't have studded tires)
    (no excuse for that either)
