Changing to slicks for my commute

I just received my slicks in the mail (Nashbar 26x1.25) I am going to install them tomorrow and am wondering if I can use the same inner tubes that came on my bike?

I'm not sure of the inner tube size but the tires are 26x2.125..

    Thanks guys

    -Nick.

Your probably going to have to get smaller tubes i.e. 1.5-1.9 when I had slicks I had to do the same thing since 2.25 had to much surface area to go in the tire
You'll enjoy the quick spin up of slicks

Thanks Joe, I think I'm going to try these and see what happens. I guess if they were too big it could cause a blowout/flat?

Too big tubes are just hard to get into the smaller tires. That could also cause twists and wrinkles in the tube, leading to a flat sooner or later.

As a shop mechanic, I would recommend getting new tubes. It's a hassle getting the larger "standard" 26" tubes into the lower width tires. Like perttime said, go with the smaller tubes. It will be easier in the long run.
