    Calling ALL Commuters - Worldwide!

Please share at least one pic of your commute by Friday April 17! Even if you don't normally post pics, or don't normally post at all, we want to see what it's like where you ride. Please include where it was taken, if you don't mind sharing that.

^Rodar, that is by Friday, not on Friday. I decided the previous 1 day version was too restrictive!

Montpelier, VT. I stopped on the way to work to admire the last "iceberg" in the Winooski. Canada goose and mergansers were hanging out.

I'll snag you something on the way home today. Anything in particular you're looking for?

I've got this nice section of closed down road (gated off to cars) that I get to take on my ride to work. Don't usually wear the backpack, but needed to transport my girlfriends laptop for her that day.

Nothing specific, anything from the mundane to the glorious on your route is welcome. Just cool to see where people are riding and encourage participation. Bikes can be included or not.

    Abandoned road. Yum
Foxtrot, your dirt road looks like home- I was going to ask in the other thread where it was, but now you`ve answered that question.
I put the camera in my bag tonight, so hopefuly I`ll remember to stop for a picture on the way home in the morning. Too bad I didn`t have it this morning with the wet, pretty weather and overcast sky.

Actually the picture is from a spot I just noticed by the side of the road in Poland, ME. I'm filing this away as a place to explore in the kayaks or canoe this summer.

Near Lansing, MI. Every type of file I try to load comes up small like this. I don't understand why.

    And RockCrusher.
But really, who else is going to see the notice?

Speaking of noticing, you guys notice the "similar threads" box at the bottom of the page with links to the last three versions?

I commute every day, have not really missed a work day on the bike for the last 18 months or so unless injured (I broke a wrist on my cross bike last year that kept me off for a month or so). Winter, rain, snow etc - apart from tomorrow! I am off work and making a trip by train. I'll be sure to post a pic from next monday though!

South Minneapolis. My commute offers little in the way of scenic vistas or anything like that. But here's the lake I skirt for half a mile (and downtown Mpls in the distant background)

There is a season, turn, turn, turn
And a time for every wheel to turn through it

My phone is dead so I've been borrowing my wife's...with disappointing photographic results.

But still a great day for the usual Friday morning ritual of CoffeeOutside with other Edmonton cyclists:

    And right by my house:

The path was re-paved just after this and now all the frost heaves are gone.

EDIT: Oh yeah, location. Hailey, Idaho to Ketchum and Sun Valley. Idaho. Approximately 500 feet of elevation gain over about 12 miles on the way to work, reverse of that on the way home. Generally headwinds both ways, with air coming down valley in the morning, and rising up valley in the afternoon. Once in a while in spring you catch a rogue down valley wind in the afternoon. Those are fast days home!!

And here is the bike fleet at home. Usually I commute on the old red one. The black one does not go commuting normally. It is looking to get replaced soon too. Probably by something like a Devinci Atlas if I can find one.
A used demo would be great. Sometimes the Merckx does commute, on light days.

It's one of the things I struggle with on my dropbar 29er, because they line up perfectly. And on my previous frame they lined up too, and one little crash took a big chunk out of the paint.

It was kind of hazy due to a morning shower. My work is the green place in the distance. Behind that would be the SW shores of Lake Ontario.

I'm late too, hope it is worth the wait though. Not a regular part of my commute, but I made an exception just for this

    Calling ALL Commuters - Worldwide!-img_20150418_183516.jpg

The state, in cooperation with the Navy, moved one of the decommisioned 16" guns from the USS New Jersey (fitting, isn't it (double parentheticals--I'm in NJ)) to the site of a former coastal defense point for restoration as part of an ongoing effort to preserve the historical site.

    Calling ALL Commuters - Worldwide!-img_20150418_183407.jpg

The future home of the gun, excavated in preparation for mounting. Eventually, the whole battery (formerly two identical such guns, though only one will be installed) will be restored, preserving one of the batteries that formerly watched over the Hudson bay area.

Missed the actual day, but here's one from this morning - sun rising over the valley on me and my trusty commuter bike! If I'm lucky and get off early enough, I get to climb the mountain opposite and rail the downhill track on the way down (Uetliberg downhill - not me riding but you get an idea of the track. I have many many videos of me falling off at various stages of the run however!), but sadly not as often as I'd like :

I enjoyed all the contributions, everyone! We don't stand on ceremony here in the commuter forum, so continue to post up pix of your commute, or add one to your report on the "How was your commute today" thread, which sometimes gets a little pic-lite!
