    The battery issue as Rodar knows can be dealt with by a generator as long as you don't want UFO level lighting. :) I have had late and lamented Red Zone 4, the Turbo, and the HotShot retire on different rides without notice for lack of juice. With different run times for many battery sets and a bad memory, redundant lighting is a good thing. Oh the pains of night-blinding spotted salamanders! :)

    Got some flack for not beaming-down when passing an opposite-direction cyclist on a dark bike path Friday.

    Except that he had no front lights or reflectives of any type, so I saw nothing until he was illuminated by my inappropriately high beams.

    Even with ambient city skyglow there are a lot of dark corners on that trail, I'm not sure how he stays out of the adjacent river.
