3 years ago, I got hit pretty hard on a daily commute home, and it really threw me for a loop mentally. I didn't want to ride, and whenever I tried to, I would freak out.
Well, then I changed jobs that would be 40 miles each way. And my office moved to where I was commuting 90 miles each way (company car, company gas. No complaints from me.)
I just quit. I'm starting my own company. So I've taken a night job at the local university to help supplement my start up income, and since we've been a single car family for the last 4 years, it means I get to bike commute again.
It's 8.2 miles each way, and should be mainly residential arterial streets and wide shouldered thoroughfares. I'm really looking forward to it!
