You know that crud that's going around?

Be very careful with that shite. I thought I was over the worst of it, but it migrated into my sinuses and ears and I ended up with a wicked ear ache on Wed. I thought I'd just suck it up and tough it out, well, I did and it finally blew my right eardrum out. Seriously. Agonizing pain followed by blood & puss. Sweet. I was actually relieved when it blew since the pain mostly went away.

So yesterday, I feel it starting in my other ear and I finally decide two blown ear drums would be bad so I break down and go to the doc, who cuffed me upside my head for being so stupid (wife is out of town so I escaped her wrath). Good news is that he gave me lots of good meds, including pain meds. Bad news is it was too late for my left eardrum which blew last night. So now I feel and sounds like my head is in a fishbowl. Doc said it will take about 10 days before everything gets back to normal. These are the good times......

I thought you were going to say that the Dr. blew your other eardrum with the "cuff upside the head". I've heard that it is a relief when the eardrum actually blows though. Let me know if you need anything, seeing how you're decrepit, disabled and all.

    Hope you feel better.

I hear the immune system gets weaker as you get older...right around 65 I think I remember hearing.

Feels good knowing I'm not the only one suffering.

    Get better.

Thanks man, I do feel better today (Sunday). Right now I'm just glad the virus/infection/whatthehellever didn't settle in my testicles. I have a feeling that if one of those blows, you don't get that same sense of relief...

Oh, and Kirk, I hope you suffer just a few days longer than me.

That sucks. I had the whole thing for a long time, started in January and I think I just barely have a little bit of it left. Mine started off as a dry cough and became a hack once the sinuses plugged up. The cough came and went and left about three weeks ago, but the sinus thing is still coming off and on.

Turns out that five years of not mountain biking, really makes one strive to get back to it.

It's seriously the worst cold i've ever had. I was laid up for four straight days and can still barely talk. I wouldn't wish it on my worst of enemies (only ex girlfriends..)
