    XC skiing

Are there any good places to xc ski in the front range? I live in Denver, and would not mind driving a bit at night. It would be pretty sweet to find a place to go after work on a weeknight if we get snow.

The Mt Evans area (Echo Lk) usually has some pretty good snow. As do the Indian Peaks above Boulder.

    XC trails

What he said above and...Rawlins pass, Eldora, Jones Pass, Three Sisters, Evergreen Mt., Apex, Enchanted Forest. 2 years ago at Christmas I was shredding Apex everyday for weeks on my skiis. Evergreen Mt. is really fun as well. Tree runs for days up there when there's enough snow. However, right now you're best bet is Jones Pass, rawlinsville, ned, Eldora, the stuff up high. Oh, Boreas pass outside of Breck is pretty sweet too - it depends on what kind of skiier you are, I like steep hills on my trail skiis.

If you don't want to drive at all...

When I lived downtown I liked Cheeseman and City Park. You might also want to check out the bike paths, there seemed to always be a little classic track that you could plug into that paralleled the path.

And if there's enough snow you can just ski down the streets.

Ya, I don't do to much downhilling or shredding on the skinny skis.
