    WHY? gunbarrel DJ content

Anyone know why all the bigger jumps in gunbarrel got wrecked?

    was it
    a) a pissed off boss after he found out his employees were wasting too much time out there

    b) jealous 29er riding nancy boys out to show those stinking DJers who's the boss

    c) bad parents worried that junior was shredding too much gnar.

    d) other

    inquiring minds what to know...

I guess the smaller hits were not affected.

Maybe it was the guys from The Fix, who wanted to attract bigger crowds to their paid jumps?

When did this happen. I swear when I rode by there on Sunday, they were still there.

Gunbarrel does have some vandalism one in a while though.

Hmm, I haven't been to either in awhile. Does it cost to ride at the Fix now?

    indeed.
you realize, as if a `9'er and SS wasn't bad enough, now that you've thrown belt drive into the equation i'm pretty sure yeti is going to repossess your 575.

nice try, though, posting something about dirt jumps to distract 'em. keep it gnar.

    P.S.
and yes, i want to ride it.

It's pretty bad. I'll post up some pics in a bit. I'd really like to understand this but I know I can't. I have tooled countless hours out there and it's a real bummer to see things destroyed.

And for the record it was everything. Systematically destroyed every lip of every line including ones not running. The very smallest were spared but even knee high jumps were taken out.

    Depressing site.

awesome, thanks for the support MK!

    1. there's no way in hell anyone at The Fix would wreck anybody else's hardwork or jumps. i built the "littles" that start out of the berm near the gazebo in 2001, so i have an investment in gunbarrel.

    2. It costs $7 a day or $75 for the year to jump at The Fix. Not $10 a day, but nevermind facts. Even with a price to jump, we don't make any money. we're RENTING THE LAND and made the jumps available at no charge for years. now we need to get a little something out of it to make it worth it for EVERYONE so there are jumps to ride.

mega bummer if gunbarrel is really in bad shape after this. seems like the big lines have had a lot of love put into them in the last few months.

I did notice today someone sprayed the kiosk at Twin Lakes and also at the trailhead at independence road and the Cottonwood trail. I wouldn't be shocked if the same peeps came through and did that.

BTW, fixtup, I think you really missed the sarcasm in MK's post.

perhaps i did, but sarcasm that isn't made obvious is pretty hard to detect through the 1's and 0's of mtbr.

if there is one thing i don't take very lightly, it's destruction (and construction) of any jump spot, whether it's mine or not. the comment was a sensitive one for me.

    moving on...
does anyone have any real news about the condition of GB yet?

to lighten the mood and put out some stoke, here's a photo i took of george ryan dumping a 360 at GB in 2005.

I was there a few weeks ago and had a ball. I can't beleive I have gone past this place for the past 10 years and never stopped to play.

I was going to bring the gear and play some today, but I actually thought it snowed in Boulder this last weekend... looks like snow is banned from Boulder (which is good for me!)

if that's true then I guess there must have been some kinda of law passed banning snow from college towns, cuz it's dry here too
