    Victor

An awesome day with awesome fellow riders. Unfortunately I did a horrible job in the pic department yesterday and few are post-worthy but here are some.

    Where?

I grew up in the area (went to HS in Cripple Creek) but that was many moons ago, before there was even such a thing as mountain biking. My recollection is that most of the area is private property and I don't remember any singletrack. I would love to know where you rode so I could revisit my homeland on my favorite mode of transport, especially as the aspens are coming into peak. Unless this is a secret stash, do tell.
    Thanks,
    Fischman

    No one rode the Bob

But there was a fixie among us and he was riding a rigid, 29'er Don McClung and he was the host. Awesome rider.

    Some more pics, a variety...

We rode 15 miles in 4:20 hrs....we were all in a relaxed mood

Fischman, we were very lucky to be able to ride on a private ranch. Most of the singletrack has been handbuilt and scouted painstakingly over the past 20+ years. There used to be an open mtb race run on it called the Bull Mountain race (something like that?) - but not this year. It is just east of Victor and we climbed Bull Mountain.

It was very sweet. Top ride of the year for me not just for the trails/terrain/weather but also for the crew riding and the mellow fun nature of the group. It was full on, old school riding with some folks that have lot's and lot's of mtb history and stories.

Wow, great pictures, great looking terrain. Lucky to be there I'm sure!
Take the long cut, we'll get there eventually.

    no pictures but....

here is another contributor to the 4.5 hour tour...

...it is just a little bit steep! This profile is from last's Big Bull race and hopfully we can get this great race going again next year. It was good to see new faces there this year and here's to keeping the tradition alive. Maybe miSSionary can actually comlete the entire ride next year????

    Thanks for the Response

I had heard about a race on private property in the area when I was living out of state. Sure wasn't going to make the trip when I wasn't accustomed to the altitude, especially since I'm a recreational rider (a little aerobically challenged to begin with). However, if the race gets going again, now that I'm back in the area, I'd probably jump in just to get the chance to legally ride such a great trail. The groove in the rocks in one picture looks like it was blasted to bring the old narrow guage railroad in. The view of the back side of the peak was especially impressive. Looks like the kind of ride that would inspire me to pull the old hardtail out of the rafters. Thanks for the pics and the great report.

Is that what they call a cameo appearance, what MiSSionary did?
