    Thunder Mountain

Who's ridden Thunder Mountain in Utah? I was thinking of hitting it on the way back from Virgin this weekend.

I wanna take Randall the bionic dog with me. Recommendations?

    really fun

Definitely worth the trip. There's good camping right near the trailhead and the trail's got a decent mix of everything.

Yes beautiful country and cool trail, but notparticularly long -- eight miles or so not including road portions. Oddly there is no mountain named "Thunder Mountain" near the trail. Evidently it is a park name.

Well, like I sez I wanna take the pooch. So. It's my understanding there is a "bike path" that you can use to loop the singletrack. Do you hafta take the road? If so, for how far, is there a good shoulder? Is there much traffic?

Distance on trail isn't a big deal but roads really beat on him.

I was wondering about the name, actually...

There is a path but I am not sure if it goes all the way back to the turn-off for the trailhead. I think the path goes through Red Canyon and there should be some info on the FS website. I don't remember the road being super busy but it does lead to Bryce.
