Caution; Merge; Workers Ahead! T.i.t.s. Is This Saturday!!!! Sat. night ride followed by beer and jams!

Oh crap its already thursday and im just getting around to posting this!

Meet up at Ironworks at 5:30 and we'll roll from there. Ride some green mountain maybe dakota and click the lights on for the finish. little e is out so pace should be normal but the new and improved and now sponsored mGe will be sure to try and gain the pole position. Seriously lets just ride some bikes then have some beer and listen to one of our own!

Here is the other thread on mtbr with more details and more rant!

I am going to have a couple extra Amoeba lights along for a demo. first come first serve!

Wear your easter bunny suit, tye dye, spandex it dont matter!

    Who's in??!!

Next week maybe we'll go bike fishin!

    GM Recon

    PBR,
hit the big green hill to scout out the trails tonight and and found that it's dried out nicely from the last snow (as long as we stay off the east and north sides).

Rode the upper S circ to the Rooney Valley climb - fire road on top (still some drifts) - down Hayden to the big Alameda lot - up GM trail to where it cuts back over to Hayden and down and around the south side. Everything was dry with just a few short sections of wet trail that were rideable without doing dammage.

    Garmin link

Should be fine conditions for Saturday's "pre Average Joe" ride unless we get more precip

May make it by the skin o my teeth. Daughter's birthday party is at the Fairgrounds around 3pm and I'll be riding in from there...After todays sunshine and tomorrow's, maybe Two Towers and the knife ridge will be open on the east side. If you don't see me at Ironworks, I'll see ya somewhere on the big Green Hill.

We're likely in. We'll just hit grn mtn if we go. I am still stickin with my theory that Dakota Ridge would not be much fun on the big bike.

Lookin forward to seein Schnauzers on stage!

When I pulled up your map, It made me think about this trail we rode as kids. I grew up just on the other side of Bear Creek Blvd and that side of the road (before it was a road) was where we went exploring on our BMX's. Where your starting point is and all the way up to Alameda to the old thunder valley bmx track used to be (the dog park area) was loaded with cool gullies and trails. There was one where you could start almost at Alameda and do a luge run in the bottom of a gully all the way to morrison road. It was so killer and I remember how HUGE that ride felt to our posse and our 4th grader legs.

Sorry for the thread derail, I'm getting old and nostalgic

    Mateo-
those trails were still there even 3 years ago ... before they started construction on Sol Terra. My son was so bummed because we used to ride there. It's where he caught his first "air".
Now, that section is a paved path - but still easy access from the house up to GM via the dog park. I just can't justify throwing my bike into the truck and driving 2 miles to the trailhead

Awesome folks! Looks like the weather is playing nice. I wish I could ride with you guys before the show. That would be cool. But, I have JCOS patrol training all day and then have to help setup the new subwoofers. We have 2000 watts of ground shaking thump now!

Appreciate the effort you all are making. I'll bring extra t's. I know there are quite a few non mtb'ers going as well. It should be a real fun evening, especially if you are riding the trails.

cool! You have been in IW hope you dont blow out the windows of that strip mall with that 2000 watts

Mateo, my uncle lives pretty close to there and he used to hall me and my heavy bmx Takara down there he would patiently wait till i had my fill of riding and pushing back up the hills. I think some of those at least down from pudge bros. pizza are still there no?

So you comin tomorrow night or what.

sounds like gm is pretty good for tomorrow.

speaking of the old days... i recall taking my dad's '79 F250 4-wheelin' up those steep slopes where that sol terra water tank is now.

    good times.

(i may just have to drop in at IW for some live music if i get a hall pass the night before easter)

I'm sure that offers a decent warm up too, always nice to be able to ride from your door!

    LOL, Schnider!

Yeah, my high school buddy had a really sweet 70's Bronco that we used to cruise around out there on lunch break from good old GM high. 16 years-old and 4-wheeling, it was totally safe I'm sure

I have to work most the weekend, wish I could go tonight for the spin and bar band. In the spirit of rock, the boy and I will have a jam session tonight. We're working on a deep cut, In The End from Fly By Night.

Good ride for the 5 that made it! Avion glad your wife made it out. I guess i didnt post this soon enough as the mtb crowd was seriously lacking in numbers. Schnauzers rocked the smallish crowd! Gonna pimp the trails day show at Ironworks alot! We need to pack the house and give Average Joe the props they deserve! The owner of Ironworks was super happy about the band and said how awesome they were!

That big ol qdoba i ate couple hrs. before the ride was definately a factor on the climbs! along with my tube working its way out on a climb.. never seen that before!

    Happy Easter!

    Happy Easter!

Thanks to everyone for coming out and sharing the night. We had a great time and Mike (Ironworks owner) was happy (it is Easter Weekend and he really didn't expect a big crowd). He's got a lot planned for the place including opening up for lunch and a BBQ pit in the back.

We'll be back on June 5 and we'll plan it around National Trails Day to help you maintain Green Mountain on your adopted trail. COMBA will be ramping this up soon and we'll make the Ironworks gig an after party. Already talked to Mike and we can put something together for right after the trail day (no need to wait until 9:00).

BTW, we raised another $50 for COMBA through AJB T-Shirts sales.

Hey, dont be given me a bad wrap! i was checking wind speed and direction for optimal riding conditions as not to damage any trail surfaces. Then later on jeremys traverse i was merely testing the ground for rollability! and yes i roll quite nicely down that ravine wtf?
