I just read another article in the Rocky about yet another person involved in some minor accident on a highway around midnight, this time an 18 year old soccer star. He gets out of his car to investigate and gets hit and killed by another car.

I read these stories all the time. A lot of times it's Good Samaritans stopping to assist at some accident scene---and THEY get plowed into by some other car.

Don't want to sound like your mother here but my advice is: whenever you get out of your car on any road, especially a highway, whether it's an accident you yourself are involved in or you're wanting to be a Good Samaritan YOUR OWN PERSONAL SAFETY SHOULD BE THE NUMBER ONE THING ON YOUR MIND! All else is secondary. Always assume that the next car is going to plow into the accident scene. Stay alive so you can render aid to someone else.
