Fair enough point, but if you're going to spend $5k on a bike wouldn't you send your kid out there with a helmet?

Did you wear a helmet when you were his age, riding around the street?

I do remember back around '83, there was one kid who wore a motorcycle helmet while riding his bike - he also had a car steering wheel instead of handlebars and a boombox strapped to the rear fender. Nobody called him that at the time, but he must've been a visionary, b/c today, no one would even give him a 2nd look...

I don't understand why this is so odd. Just because you live in a ghetto, doesn't mean the guy across the street in Cherry Hills Village, does.

You think the area around Mojo Wheels is ghetto? You need to leave Highlands Ranch more often.

As a kid I spent most of my time on a moto. And if I even went down the driveway without a helmet my Dad yelled at me.

This is not a big deal. Kid probably borrowed his older brother's bike. Paranoia is running high these days.

Same here, (minus the cheese), but I still only wore a helmet occasionally on my bike, and that was only when riding the halfpipe, sometimes.

    Update, the bike is stolen.

You know how cops have that "gut" feeling that is hard to explain? It's hard to type out everything I noticed. The kid is a minor so I won't go into details.

Good catch Inthu. Sounds like you handled the situation well. So I'm guessing they know who the owner is?

Thanks. Sometimes it's worth just checking things out with a few emails/phone calls. And yes I found the owner.

Oh and FT, I actually laughed out loud at my desk at work with that cheese wheel/PBR comment. The guy sitting next to me asked what was so funny, he's also from WI so he gets it. Spot on.

Just a heads up for others, before I could take the CL ad down some one else contacted me. He had a Tracer with a black frame and Noleen fork stolen.

Keep your eyes out folks, the community can help fight these D-bag bike thieves.
