    Left Hand OHV fire

This fire is on Twitter with the #boulderfire hashtag. For those familiar with Left Hand OHV, it appears that the fire started off of the 840 trials loop. Map here:

Here is a pic of the fire from the Pondo loop at Heil. I took this around 11:00.

I was worried about mud on PR so I drove to south Heil and ended up riding back to Lyons anyway (mud wasn't bad and where it was soft was short) and then back to the south. I was starting to wonder if it was closed when I didn't see a soul from about half way up to the silo all the way back to the front parking lot. I was the last person out. Ranger on the trail towards the bottom seemed surprised to see me. The ones in the parking lot seemed glad to get the last car out.

I've only been in CO for 4 years. Is a fire this early unusual?

Had one in January a couple years ago due to a powerline getting knocked down by similar force winds...

Thanks Dave, I think we're good where I live. I suppose Heil is closed tomorrow? How's Hall looking these days above the garden?

All of Heil is currently closed (including Picture Rock). Hall is good from Hwy 7 up to the Nelson loop but the loop and Antelope are muddy and should be avoided.
