Horsetooth Mountain park, snow, and reality

I rode a lot of miles at horsetooth mountain park today. About 2pm the snow started as I was cutting down Wathen , about 3:30 I was hating life climbing Loggers trail, and about 4:30 I was barreling down Audra Culver and Southridge.

Half blind from the snow, half frozen as the sun was going down, half crazed at the thought of the leftover turkey in my refrigerator - I realize that these are the things that truly make life. I'm thankful for all of this - the pain, the bloodied shins, the endos and the front wheel washouts in the mica + dust that passes for soil up there . . .

All of this makes it wonderful. The weird silence that is wind plus wheelnoise, the pumps on the rear suspension over rocks and around berms, the strange surreal climbing high.

Yeah, it was a good day. Rain or shine I'll be up there again tomorrow.
