You forgot "was going to, but got sick" - or was that my excuse for FIFO?
How 'bout "too much turkey and punkin pie - still can't get off the couch"

OK - I get the idea I'll be there and probably opt for the hop killa and no kareoke.

Just a warning - I may add "I have to leave without riding - I'm oncall and just got paged" to the list.

Well, I just put my DH bike back together AND found my helmet, so I'll be there. In addition, I will probably not only ride at least one other night ride this week but will also snowboard on Friday... but I will still show up.

And HEY... forgetting my helmet was not excuse for me not to ride last week, it was merely an excuse for me to ride without a helmet!

And HEY HEY... snowboarding last Thursday was also not an excuse for me not to ride, it was merely an excuse for me to snowboard and ride in the same day!
The older I get, the faster I was.

I just didn't want our younger riders to think it was ok to ride without a helmet

And the other snowboard referenc was soley intended for MGepics! But hey if you fit into more than one category sorry!

Technically I don't fit into ANY of those categories, since I actually rode despite being made of so much fail.

edit-slash-PS: I appreciate the disclaimer up there, friend. Solid work!

The only excuse I will have for not riding Friday night will be due to prior commitments to a Thanksgiving feast at a good friend's house. Wait a minute, it won't be an excuse NOT to ride, but merely an excuse to ride with a belly full of deep fried turkey and beer!

Now you've convinced me! I have a hard time keeping up with FT and TC let alone you guys

FT was making fun of me, so I think I have to come either way now, slow or fast.

Pisgah Night Riding is Good stuff. Best Night ride I ever done there was Farlow Gap at Midnight...Marking the trail for a race the next day..This trail is one of the most rugged in Pisgah and features Narrow trail with some areas maxing 40 percent grade...crossing waterfalls, cliff edges, tons of rocks, rocks and more rocks..then as I'm climbing the fireroad at 2 am...meeting some female bear hunters who wanted to let me know to be careful of the bears and their men with the guns.

May go back in a few years to race the Double Dare again....1st day starts at noon...ends at midnight...2nd day starts at 6am ends at 6pm....free entry fees and as much day and night riding of Pisgah as you want....all based on checkpoints...you get a passport with coordinates and figure out the best way to reach it within the realm of 400+ miles of connecting fireroads and rugged trails....There will be some hike a bike...Last time I did this race...my partner and I ended up doing 120 miles.....60,000 + feet of elevation gain/loss....5 miles of that was hike a biking..

Where/What is Ironworks? I am in Denver visiting family for Thanksgiving and was hoping to get a ride in. I brought the singlespeed and light just in case. If everything aligns, maybe I will try to hop in (if outsiders are welcome on this ride).

jeffbfox...I imagine your coming from Denver....Take Hwy 6 west to the Union/Sims Exit...Turn left at the top of the ramp onto Union...Go about 1-1.5 mile to Alameda Pkwy...Turn Right...Go approx....1/4-1/2 mile and take a left on S Xenon...between the Vitamin Cottage and a gas station...theres also a Mcdonald's to the left of the gas station...Take a left behind the gas Station and McDonald's and follow the little strip mall around to the right and Ironworks Pub will be tucked around the corner on the right...

We're just a laid back bunch of people and always enjoy having a new face. Mixed group of riders.

Here's their address and phone if you want to Mapquest or GPS it.

Lurking on your ride ... hit GM yesterday in the daytime for some pre-turkey fun and still had numb toes as I was tearing in to my second plate
after a rough day at work (yes I worked today, don't ask) decided to skip the ride and start on the Kettle One ... looked outside at 8:00 to see a fresh inch of snow. (I live on the south side of GM). Hope you all had a fun ride, or just hung at IW. the snow sparked a fire and within two minutes of texting, had a group of four buddies lined up to hit Winter Park for the first day of the season tomorrow

I have to say...despite being frozen to core.....This ride was the epitome of Awesomeness!

I was a little dissapointed leaving home with temps in the 40's and a cool breeze up on Green Mtn...

Met the guys at Ironworks and had a Stout with the fellas and back to Green Mtn we go...Apparently the Universe took my silent wishes and gave us as PBR promised....Friday Night TITS: Tryptophan In The Snow...Baby

The ride ended with some odd inches of fluffy powder and me providing fresh tracks for the fellas to follow...I seem to remember a lot of ....."trail...there ain't no trail here".....me saying..."I'm blazing one, just stay on my wheels fellas".

Good Times Guys....back to the steaming

MMMMMmkay - it was...FUN!!!! Yes it was.
I am trying at the pictures between text thing - 1st time - cut me a little slack.
Started out about 6:30 - spitting a little snow on the man asses (where were the women - as suggested, may have to rethink the T.I.T.S. name):

1st climb - snowing a little harder - everyone still smiling:

1/2 way up 1st climb - it was starting to come down, by the top of the climb it finally felt like the 1st blizzard of '08!!! YES!!!!!

But, couldn't stop yet, there was still Jeremy's traverse, where a couple wipe outs were to be had, luckily the pow padded the falls, no damage done.

And back to IW for a couple.
Good time had by all as far as I could tell.
Nice solid ride gents, and good times.
    Until later.

Looks like an awesome ride. Thanks for the invite guys. Conditions were just too good yesterday afternoon, so I had to get a ride in during the day instead. Met some guys at Green Mountain that showed me around for a great ride. Kind of wish I had saved a little for a night lap as riding in the snow is a blast.
