First Sub 20 dgree ride of the year

Broke out ALL the cold weather gear to ride Mt. Falcon yesterday.
Only 2 cars in the lot at 3:30 pm, checked the lights and off I went.
I guess I was expecting the trail to be clear of ice, at least till you hit the trees, but I was sadly mistaken. the couple of streches with protection from southern exposure has ice, I walked a section, maybe 60 yards in one area, 10 yard in another. Once I hit the trees, it was a skating rink, as darkness was approaching, I turned around headed down.
47 minutes, parkng lot to the trees, not an especially stellar time.
My wife is convinced that I am crazy, but I enjoy riding in the winter, almost never encounter other trail users, so the yeilding and trail sharing issues are truly a non-issue.

I am concerned about getting one of those 50 dollar tickets for being on an open space after is closes, any idea if the Morrison PD can issue those tickets? they seem to patrol the lot at falcon quite a bit.
